CORI OVERSON

Cori Overson was born and raised in Utah. She is very happily married, the mother of 4 wonderful children and 5 terrific grandchildren. She thinks that the sun rises and sets with each one.

In 1985 with 4 young children, Don (her husband) and Cori decided that he would return to school to get his degree in Engineering at BYU. It meant that they would have to sacrifice and work hard together for the next 7 years before his graduation. Cori had actually worked in banking when she finished school and then part time before the move to Provo. She began working for Valley Bank and Trust and continued with Valley National Bank, Bank One and Zions First National Bank earning a degree in Banking from the American Banking Association.

After 13 years in Banking, she went to work for Temkin International, Inc. where she is the Assistant to the President. She has been with the company for 10 years now and still loves going to work. She wears many hats, but says that the one labeled “Grandma” is the very best one of all.

Cori says, “ A few years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, something that just is not supposed to happen to your daughter. Suddenly, I found myself learning more about cancer than I ever wanted to know and sharing experiences that I hoped I never would. All have made me a better person. My experience with her breast cancer story was the driving force that made me want to be a part of this foundation to honor cancer heroes. She has become one of mine.”
